Raising Kings 2024 took place February 29th at the PAL Center in Wilmington
"Black History in the Making" was the theme of a recent event, Raising Kings, that drew young men - mostly of color - from several New Castle County School districts for an opportunity to hear from and interact with role models.
At the Wilmington Police Athletic League on the final day of Black History Month, the adults addressed complicated questions about life and success, but also talked about simple things - like making your bed each morning, and learning how to tie a necktie.
President and CEO of One Village Alliance Chandra Pitts said Raising Kings was founded "to really improve society's prominent image expectations and outcomes for men and boys of color."
